Smells like Mettaton. A bit of aluminum and silicone; a strong note of cherry and that strange artificial smell energy drinks have. Roses. Mettaton also smells like... ectoplasm, which reportedly smells like the way the air smells right before a thunder storm.

A monster power. Uses the power of his soul to conjure up objects or attacks, often in forms of self-expression. Mettaton, for example, enjoys explosives. He also enjoys his own legs. yes...
Monster magic is an attack when applied to fleshier beings like humans. When monster magic comes into contact with a human, it manifests as wounds upon their body. Nothing special.
⯌ Soul manipulation Can make visible one's soul by physically pulling it into view. However, he cannot make his own soul visible to one who cannot see souls naturally. This is a benign experience that doesn't feel like much of anything, and a person is no more susceptible to dying or anything like that in this state.
⯌ Soul fusion & transcendence A monster trait. Any monster who fuses with a soul more adamant than their own will gain "incredible power." To fuse with a human's soul, for example, will permit any monster immense power and resilience; to fuse with six will grant near-godlike power, from the ability to manipulate short spans of time to the ability to alter an opponent's ability to function properly. To fuse with the equivalent of seven or more human souls will grant any monster godhood: total control over time, space, timelines, the 4th wall, memory, existence... You name it. Monsters can only fuse with a soul properly dislodged from its physical host, such as in the case of a human who has recently died.

What if my character...?
This is for all of those special powers characters have that I've encountered and had to think about in previous games. If you don't see your answer here, let me know!
As a note, in writing these out, you have my express permission to have your character perform whatever these special powers are. Empath him, try to hack him, go for it.
⯌ ...can detect possession and the supernatural? Yes. The robot is possessed. Possessed real damn good, too. That ghost loves that robot body.
⯌ ...can see souls? Yes, Mettaton has a soul. Compared to a human's soul, his soul will appear vastly different. If humans have a "color" or characteristic or to their soul, Mettaton's will appear completely without distinction: no color, no character. By most definitions, it would appear thin and frail. Human souls are 'stronger' than monster souls, in that they can persist for a time beyond the body; monster souls cannot be separated from their body. A sharp eye will note that his soul would dissipate were it separated from Mettaton's body, and not just returned to the afterlife or whatever. Monster souls are attuned to emotion, and monsters themselves are attuned to the soul. Lastly, monster souls appear "inverted" compared to human souls, as though upside-down.
⯌ ...can manipulate technology? Mettaton's body can be made to disobey, but not his mind. Almost as if something more organic is controlling it... 👻
⯌ ...can effortlessly detect vulnerabilities? Mettaton's heart-shaped core is his weak spot. Doesn't take a special talent to guess that one, though... On the other hand, his classic rectangular form has absolutely no vulnerabilities!
⯌ ...can perceive physical tics that imply deceit? Mettaton glances to the side when he is doubtful, lying, hiding something, or outright uncomfortable. I often note these in prose.
⯌ ...is an empath? Mettaton is very easy for empaths to communicate with! Monsters are made of their feelings, and can only act if their feelings agree with that action. His personal feelings in the moment aside, monsters are said to be comprised of "love, hope, and compassion;" these will be generally present in him by default.
⯌ ...tries to suck his blood, a la vampire? You get nothing. Mettaton's neck is silicone, so sharp vampire teeth will leave a wee mark there. He might not like that. For the funnies, though, feel free to let your character accidentally strike a line of coolant!!! Mmmmm, refreshing.
