elidibus final fantasy xiv → witch to be added... |
emet-selch; hades final fantasy xiv → witch ⚯ ♥ ⚭ to be added... |
irhya pendhula final fantasy xiv → monster (vampire) ★ Their relationship sort of went a bit backwards in that they did a lot of (mistletoe; valentine's) kissing, got intimate, and then turned back around to talk about Irhya's troubles — both with herself, and Emet-Selch. Mettaton doesn't mind this at all. His Puca senses lead him to being a bit more liberal with his lascivious behavior, besides. But that's where a lot of the meaningful meat of the matter comes from. Irhya seems to be a flirtatious and witty woman, but a lot belies her surface in darkness, and Mettaton can't figure out what's stopping her from letting herself shine through. Learning that she views the shadows as her place and therefore unworthy of attention, but desiring it... It kind of resonated with a long-abandoned part of him, and he hopes she'll find herself more comfortable with herself and confident that she can attain the things she wants — even if those feelings are complicated, and perhaps even ones about his own beloved. Emet-Selch called her one of his friends; after breaking their Bond, he sees that she's just as determined to set things right as he'd hoped. While Irhya is fun and playful a lot of the time, Mettaton's always aware that her moods can dip darker — but she has spirit, and when she just lets go, she has passion. That fascinates and endears him both. He thinks he could afford to get to know her some more — she's very good at buttering him up, besides. ALWAYS a point in Mettaton's favor. |

alphys undertale → monster (faun) ⚮ ♥ With a friendship that started long before Aefenglom, Amalgamates, laboratories, and robots, Alphys and Mettaton have endured a lot. And having endured so much, it goes without saying that things between the two monsters aren't the same as they used to be. Such is the nature of a long-enduring friendship — and Mettaton would still call it a friendship, in the end. What started as a mutual adoration for humanity and evolved into a plan to get Mettaton a corporeal body and Alphys an important spot as the Royal Scientist grew into something that mired them both in their own sets of circumstances. A close friendship began to fracture, as Mettaton's vanity consumed him: with celebrity status and a schedule booked nearly 24/7, how was he to have time for Alphys except for to check in on his EX form? And so distance was fostered. And so Alphys, when she began to struggle with her own dark troubles, wouldn't dare reach out to him to confide in him. She couldn't, and neither could she finish his new body if it meant that Mettaton would no longer need her. Between Mettaton's growing narcissism and Alphys' troubling avoidance, their friendship was headed for inevitable ruin. Some of Mettaton's fans had already speculated for themselves: they were friends no longer. But mere hours before Mettaton's arrival to Aefenglom, they saw a change to that: he met Frisk; the Barrier was destroyed; Alphys' secrets were made public, in all of their malformation. She was trying to unbury herself from her dismal depths of depression, and Mettaton's hopeful that she'll continue to try, and to continue to believe that her friends have her back. ...Of course, given their time in Aefenglom, she still seems to be the same shut-in as ever. Typical Alphys. For the longest time, Mettaton was sure she was a Turnskin. A pink-furred Turnskin, which earned her much jealousy from the grey-furred Puca (who eventually developed some metallic glitter in that coat, much to his delight). But he's since then learned that Alphys is definitely a Faun, and he's offered his help toward teaching his creator how to walk on those new ungulate hooves. And from there, the robot learned that his friend had been foregoing a Bond because it felt too intimate, and Undyne wasn't here... Which led to him taking action and talking her into a Bond with himself. He cares about Alphys, and worries for her well-being in a place where meeting all of these new people is a must. Does she even know any Witches?! He told her she'd better start looking! Mettaton still regards her with some carelessness (not checking in on her Bonding situation for over a year, still not bothering to offer her a place to stay that isn't the barracks, only stopping in if he needs a repair or something else), but time's allowed for some manner of healing between them. They mutually view each other's company as both familiar and exasperating at times. Their relationship has never been one of smooth sailing, but it could be smoother, Mettaton acknowledges. He'll continue to look out for her and protect her, come what may. She's still his best friend (and biggest fan, he'd say). |
connor detroit: become human → monster (merrow) Mettaton had no idea Connor was even an android until he saw him being cut apart int he Rathmore's basement, prostrate upon an operating table and in tears. Connor wanted to know if he was alive at all if he lacked a soul, or if he had one at all, and it led Mettaton to vaguely consider what someone considers alive or not. That Connor would fear dying because he had no soul to exist beyond him was a further perplexity, as if qualifying his ability to live hinged upon such a thing. Not only did it make Mettaton reconsider what he thought of as living, but he'd later sympathize with the ability to persist beyond one's body in death. It's a very human want, to a monster like Mettaton. Mettaton's not much for philosophy, so he's decided it's easy enough to leave it at that... But hey, if they ever talk about souls again, Mettaton thinks he's come up with some manner of answer! As far as their time in Aef goes they have a bit of common, being deprived of basic sentience by others while also experiencing quite a few firsts under Aefenglom's magic. Sensation and pain is a big one, and feeling more alive than ever is another. His mild temperament and frankness are cute. MTT harbors a curiosity for Connor's history and his experiences with humanity — given that he seems close to Hank, there must be more to learn. For as much as he's an android, he's such a convincing-looking human! MTT can't deny, he's a bit envious. He'd consider him an acquaintance, one who he'd like to learn more about. |
eren jaeger attack on titan → monster (dragon) eren owes him money |
fugo pannacotta jojo's bizarre adventure → witch Meeting Fugo was one of the first chances Mettaton had at getting to meet someone with a more dour outlook on their place here in Aefenglom, with a frosty reluctance to (lowercase) bond with other Mirrorbound thanks to the temporal/spatial nature of their circumstance. But how's it different from the transience of life itself, he wonders, where people come and go? At the time, the pain of loss didn't register to Mettaton: he'd never lost much of anything, and anything he had lost was by his own will. Still, it's an important thing he learned from this Witch. Anyway, he feels it's an awful waste to have a charming, if not contentious, personality like Fugo's, only to disregard the potential for impressing himself upon new people. Upon inquiring further, deeper, for more on his view, Fugo froze over. And then they were kidnapped, and Fugo directed him toward his Bonded in what seemed like a desperate act of someone who loves deeply. Mettaton wondered if they were from the same world, but it didn't really matter: it was nice to know Fugo had someone close to him. Otherwise, he found Fugo to be insufferably booksmart — which was also endearing all at once, for the sake of teasing. He's grateful he placed his trust in him by healing him, but in retrospect, he's also grateful for having his mentality laid out for him to understand. A lot of people here seem to share it. |

nico goldstein devil may cry → witch to be added... |
papyrus undertale → monster (turnskin) ★ Prior to their arrival in Aefenglom, their relationship was that of a celebrity and fan: Mettaton scarcely knew Papyrus save for the few interactions he'd had with him (the Underground wasn't a terribly populous place). Just as they'd begin to associate with more frequency post-game, the two also associated with more frequency in Aefenglom. The first tenuous months in Aefenglom were spent by Mettaton trying to fight and hide his disfigurement, leading to some deep-seated insecurity cropping up. That in itself prevented Mettaton from bursting out and onto Aefenglom's performance scene, aside from their restrictions on acting to begin with. It was more comfortable to remain in his classic body, but it wasn't hitting off as well with Aefenglom's natives... And yet, monsters like Papyrus are more accustomed to his rectangular body while Mettaton wants to bust out of it and debut in his EX form. Things were ending up much the same. But when he realized that Papyrus couldn't bridge the dissonance between his fundamental self and his EX body during their captivity, Mettaton took personal offense, and Papyrus became somebody different from just a fan of his. He was hurt by him, and not just because the Turnskin tried biting his hand off. Matters of identity are deeply personal to Mettaton, but it's hard to explain to him why without divulging too much... And so he tried to make amends. And their relationship improved for it, somewhat, if not just because the two of them are both cheerful, optimistic personalities that end up feeding off of each other in their effusive positivity, no matter how much of it is falsified. Almost like every time anything's about to get too personal or too heavy, Mettaton turns it into something with a cheerful or theatrical tone, and Papyrus is drawn to follow suit. Since Mettaton expressed the anguish about this bodily dissonance with Papyrus while they both lamented the unintended behavioral changes that becoming a Monster entails, he found Papyrus making a concerted effort to show up to even more of his performances, especially after theater was legalized. It was a buoyant relationship between charming star and affected fan, enough so that Mettaton even decided to keep him company in his house by taking it over! ...Sure, while there's some self-centered motivation here, Mettaton did wish to keep Papyrus company. He, too, found that he wouldn't like to live by his lonesome. Papyrus has since left, leaving the house entirely in Mettaton's care, but he left it a bit quieter for it despite Mettaton's ability to make noise. He'd become something more than a fan. Perhaps Mettaton's growing into somebody who appreciates familiar people, after all. |
wolfgang amadeus mozart fate/grand order → witch Amadeus is one of the first of the Mirrorbound Mettaton acquainted himself with. A mischievous, whimsical sort, he'd been the one to push the limits of acceptability when Aefenglom still deemed theater illegal and surprisingly, he never got penalized for it. Naturally as anything, Mettaton partook where he needed bodies to make his operatic dreams come to fruition while Aefenglom's Parliament had their eyes elsewhere. They're not terribly close, but Mettaton would involve himself in his antics any time he had a mind for them. It was his first proper go at performing before humans, after all, and Mettaton cherishes that opportunity, even when he plays it off like it's just another day for Mettaton The TV Star. The two haven't bothered to break past each other's barriers or delve into personal histories, but perhaps that's just how they are in nature. Mettaton would still put himself at risk for Amadeus if need be: though fickle and capricious, he saw first-hand that Amadeus would still put himself on the line for Mettaton's sake back in the Rathmore's basement. Their relationship as it is is congenial to Mettaton, even if he'd like to know more of the composer. (...while conveniently keeping the depths of his own history out of view — can't have him learning anything embarrassing and unwanted about him!) |
